Unilever were keen to improve the on-boarding journey for new hires at a senior level. Given their strong brand stable, they wanted an on-boarding experience to match. One enabling new hires to start making a difference from day one.
Our involvement was to create a 60-minute read handbook: 'Be All You Want To Be In Unilever'. A highly impactful analysis of how senior level hires can create their own luck - in a complex global organisation. And some of the classic 'bear-traps'.....behaviours that can sabotage the best efforts of a new hire. This was a candid and honest assessment of 'make or break' behaviours.
This was followed up with a 3-day on-boarding workshop. Based on business simulations - so new hires understood the Unilever business model and ways of working. Woven into this were 5 'big questions' participants explored based on their first 6-months with the business. These ranged from: the key relationships I need to nurture, how I take care of my own well-being and happiness, through to 'how things get done' in the Unilever culture.
"Sukhwant was the very special and secret ingredient in how we managed to reposition what, how and why we do talent management in Unilever. His insights around how powerful business psychology plays out in plain and simple language helped leaders and employees see what they could do to play a key role in owning our culture of talent. I view him as an extended member of our team and one of the very best business partners"
Stephen Lochhead - Global Vice President - Talent and Resourcing, Unilever
